Privacy Policy for VaultPDF

Thank you for using VaultPDF. VaultPDF is a PDF toolkit for Android that lets you view, create, edit, scan and convert documents. We respect your privacy, and this policy explains what information the app uses and why.
Your files and documents
VaultPDF only accesses the files you choose to open, scan or create, and only uses device storage to read and save them. All processing happens locally on your device. PDF files, scans, signatures, annotations and generated documents stay on your device unless you choose to share or export them. We do not upload your files to any server.
On-device smart tools
Some features use Google ML Kit models that run on your device (text recognition, translation, language identification, entity extraction and handwriting recognition). The first time you use certain features, the app may download a language pack or "smart reading pack" from Google. The download contains only the model; your document content is never sent to Google or to us.
Advertising
VaultPDF is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- Device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID)
- IP address, which may be used to estimate your general (approximate) location
- App usage data, such as app launches, taps and ad views
- Diagnostic information, such as app performance
Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see which features people use, so we can improve the app. It collects anonymous usage statistics, such as:
- Which screens and tools are opened, and whether a task finished or failed
- Taps on the "More apps from us" links, and responses to update prompts
- Device model, Android version, app version, and an app-instance ID
- Approximate location (country/region), derived by Google from your IP address
Analytics never receives file names, document text, or anything you type into the app. We do not use analytics to identify you personally, and we do not sell any data.
App updates and other apps
VaultPDF uses Google Play's in-app update service to check for new versions. This check happens between the app and Google Play on your device. The "More apps from us" section in Settings simply opens the Google Play Store listing of our other apps.
Data security
All data that the app's third-party services send over the internet is encrypted in transit using TLS.

The app uses the following services, each under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google Analytics for Firebase (anonymous usage statistics)
- Google Play services, including ML Kit, the document scanner and in-app updates

Your choices
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your Android settings.
- Uninstalling VaultPDF stops all collection by the app and removes the app's local data from your device.

Children's privacy
VaultPDF is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be shown by updating the effective date above.
